Outdoor Holiday Lighting
When it comes to outdoor holiday lighting, either you love it or you hate it. The reason
why you see so many homes with their lights still up in the summer is that the owners just do not like putting them up, so once they are up, they
stay up. In some cases, they are left up because the owners are simply lazy.
Many people that are passionate about this part of the holiday season begin to get their outdoor
holiday lighting ready several months in advance. Each light bulb must be tested to determine if it will shine brightly during the lighting
season. Nothing would be more frustrating than putting up all your lights before testing them and then having to take them back
down.
Another reason people tend to prepare their
outdoor holiday lighting ahead of time is because of the weather. It is much easier installing lights when the weather is nice than when it is
freezing outside. Check all the wires to make sure there is no frayed wires as well as broken or damaged bulbs. Make sure that all your lights
are approved for outdoor use as well.
Another tip for your outdoor holiday lighting is to make sure that if one light happens to go out
the entire string doesn't go out. If you are going to string up a large amount of lights it may be a good idea to get some help for the job,
especially if there is some ladder work involved.
Outdoor holiday lighting does not mean you light up your home like Clark Griswold. If you have
trees or bushes in your front yard then these are great for lighting up during the holidays. If you have a large selection of lights, then
storage is always going to be a problem. There are products available that allow you to roll up the lights just as you would with a garden hose.
This is a great way to prevent tangles from happening with your lights.
